The Monroe County Volunteer Humane Society dogs need your help!  They are closing and have 19 more dogs to place.  Please help get them to safety.  They could be forced to close any time, and these beautiful, loving, innocent dogs would be gas euthanized.  Please click on the link below each dog to see more/enlarged photos of these lovely dogs.  Please, let us help to get these last dogs to safety.  We just have a little ways to go!  Let's get them to safety and not leave one behind!

NO ONE adopts in this area.  And if we rescuers don't take these dogs, they have NO hope. It is up to the rescue community to help.  There are NO other options. Please join me in making sure every last doggie has a safe place to go!

Thank you to everyone, every group who has helped... please, don't give up now!  We still have 19 to go... please help us get them to safety.  These are ALL nice adoptable dogs.  I have adopted five of these dogs, and am familiar with a 6th.  Every single one is in good condition, and VERY nice and adoptable! --sherry

50+ WILL BE KILLED!!!!!!

PLEASE CROSSPOST!!!

THE MONROE COUNTY VOLUNTEER HUMANE SOCIETY SHELTER IS TRYING TO RAISE MONEY TO POSTPONE ITS INEVITABLE CLOSING UNTIL HOMES FOR ALL OF THE ANIMALS CAN BE FOUND.

THE COUNTY IS PRESSURING THEM TO BECOME A KILL-SHELTER, AND HAS PULLED ALL OF THEIR FUNDING AND MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO STAY UP AND RUNNING.  ONCE THE CITY IS INSTRUCTED TO TAKE OVER, ALL OF THE ANIMALS STILL THERE WILL BE KILLED
LOOK AT THEIR FACES...DO NOT LET THESE INNOCENT LIVES BE KILLED WITHOUT EVER KNOWING THE LOVE OF A REAL "HOME".

IF YOU CAN DONATE ANY ITEMS FOR THE GARAGE SALE (SEE INFO AT BOTTOM OF EMAIL), DONATE MONEY DIRECTLY EVEN IF IT IS JUST $5!!!, OR ADOPT AN ANIMAL,

PLEASE CONTACT LAURIE THE SHELTER DIRECTOR AT LAURIEELISE22@AOL.COM
THEY ARE ALREADY GETTING SOME BROKEN BAGS OF FOOD FROM NEARBY STORES,
BUT IT IS JUST NOT ENOUGH!!!

I JUST GOT AN EMAIL FROM LAURIE AND HERE'S WHAT SHE HAD TO SAY:
"I am burned out. I cannot do this anymore. We have no money and no matter how much we all try..I see no hope for this shelter. I need to try to find homes
for all the animals or else the county will have them euthanized.
We just have no money and no hope and I certainly can't fix anymore...
I can hardly feed them. The county doesn't care and I'm just over it.
I just need to get these dogs and cats out of here before something happens to them. Time is of the essence....this is finally coming to an end. I tried and tried to wait and see if anything would improve and it's only gotten worse. Less donations(if that can even be possible) and virtually NO adoptions.  I am just so stressed and can't handle this anymore.
Laurie"

THEY STARTED WITH OVER 160 ANIMALS AND, WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BUY TIME LITTLE BY LITTLE THROUGH DONATIONS.  IN THAT TIME, HOMES AND RESCUES HAVE BEEN FOUND FOR ABOUT 110 ANIMALS!!!
THAT IS A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT, BUT THERE ARE STILL CLOSE TO 50 WHO CAN NOT BE FORGOTTEN AND LEFT TO DIE.

SO, IF YOU CAN'T ADOPT, DONATE MONEY DIRECTLY OR SEND ITEMS TO BE SOLD AT THE GARAGE SALE.  ALL INFORMATION IS BELOW.

THANKS A BUNCH!!!
