over a week without getting snatched up instantly! I look so out of place in a big 
pen all by my lonesome, so I was quite excited when Sadie moved in next to me. We introduced ourselves by touching noses through the fence and wagging our tails! "I may not make the best first impression since I seem shy and scared, but quite 
frankly this situation frightens me. I'm smart enough to realize what danger I'm 
facing, especially when animal control is so full, as it is now. But once the 
volunteers coaxed me out of my pen and away from all the barking dogs, I became more relaxed and calm. Not only do I look like I'm wearing a tux, but I also have a gentlemanly quality about me. I am well-mannered and already neutered, so please don't pass up this great catch!"

"I was picked up at a local supermarket because some folks were afraid of me. The worst thing I would do to them is give them a bunch of tail wags and kisses! I'm obviously someone's beloved pet who wandered away from home since I know all the basic obedience commands. "What a silly guy I am! With my floppy ears and funny grin, I tend to bring out smiles and laughs where ever I go.:-) My owner abandoned me and left town.  It hurt my feelings to be left behind, but maybe it's for the best. "I'm dog of the week because my visitors worried that my
initial shyness would cause me to be passed by at the pound.
But, ya see, while I am a very scared pup in my kennel, once
I was coaxed into the play pen I had an immediate
personality change-- my legs stopped shaking and my tail
popped up and wagged the whole time.  I like to kiss people
(especially if you rub my tummy), I like to play fetch, and
my visitors suspect that I might be potty-trained! What a
catch I am! Another visitor with his kids said that Border
Collies are really, really smart dogs -- duh. I'm very
sweet, too. Please come adopt me so I won't have to stay the
timid, terrified dog my visitors first saw."

"I am one bee-youuuu-teee-ful pup. I have a silky chocolate
and white coat and a sleek, muscular body. I barked a
greeting to my visitors from my pen, but don't be frightened
by my "hello" because although I look like a big dog, I'm
really just a pup at heart. Right when I got into the play
pen I literally jumped with all 4 legs right into one of my
sitting visitor's laps and gave him a sloppy kiss. I'm potty-
trained, as well.  I'm really friendly and playful and look
goofy when I jump so high in the air with my tongue hanging
out. I also like to give hugs, so c'mon by for a visit and
maybe I'll convince you into letting me give you hugs for
life."

I'm in a pickle here.  I'm an owner surrendered puppy, so my last day could be any day.  My owners don't want me because they think I'm too big.  So far I'm between 20-30 pounds, so yeah, I'll grow up to be a pretty big boy.  But I'm a ripe age for getting involved in training classes.  A big, trained boy is easier to handle than a tiny, untrained dog!  So in reality, size shouldn't matter too much!  My owners said I am current on my rabies vaccinations and I'm housebroken!!  I'm still learning though, so an occasional mistake has to be forgiven.:-)  I'm great with kids and other dogs.  For a perfectly healthy, energetic puppy, please come look into my beautiful green eyes, and you'll see how special I am!"
