Bart is
one incredible little guy. He's a four month old red and white husky mix that
was brought in to the Mason County Animal Shelter in Point Pleasant, WV after
having been hit by a car. He must be in pain. He has trouble walking. But his
tail is wagging, he's friendly and sweet. His attitude just couldn't be
better. What he doesn't know is, if he doesn't get help soon, he's doomed.
The county will not authorize the expenditure for any vet care for Bart, and he
does need to be seen by a vet. And though he's safe for his five day holding
period, he does have to find a rescue or a forever home soon, because more than
30 dogs were brought in during the last two days. The county ordered the shelter
to adhere to a strict limit on the number of dogs kept and the length of their
stay. The arrival of so many dogs at one time made it almost certain that there
will be a mass gassing, and unfortunately, a special needs guy like Bart is
going to be high on the gassing list if no one steps forward to save him.
