DO NOT REPLY TO ME if you need help quickly. Animals
are in Spalding County AC, Griffin, GA. (770)
467-4772
These animals *might* still be at the shelter. They've already
been removed from Spalding's website, but that doesn't
necessarily mean they're dead yet. People who have called to
check on who was pulled daily were told some of these animals
were still there and NOBODY had shown even the slightest
interest in any of them.
They will be killed very soon,
probably by the end of Wednesday 7/21. If you want to save one, CALL
THE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. 770-467-4772 PAST DUE TO
BE KILLED: *BEAGLE - Tucker, A04-1999 - cute adult male
mix, OS, so scared & confused after being dumped at the
shelter that he won't come to the front of his cage, so none
of the local adopters are considering him *BLACK AND TAN
COONHOUND/FOXHOUND - Tielk, 04-1992 - beautiful adult female;
some volunteers visited the shelter & said she's quiet, calm,
undemanding, friendly, gentle, & sweet, a WONDERFUL girl who
deserves consideration. She's such a sweetie that she would
rather get human attention than have a dog treat. But since she's a
hound, most people won't even give her a second look. She
deserves a family just as much as the retrievers and
shepherds! Rescue is probably her only hope. Not sure if she's still
there or not, but I haven't heard about anybody who's even
slightly interested in her. Call (770) 467- 772 or go to
http://www.spaldingcountyanimalshelter.com/ to rescue any
of these animals.

PLEASE SAVE HEZEKIAH!! HE'S IN
MEMPHIS!!

I got this in on one of the rescue lists. Take a look at these tow guys
and tell me how silly it sounds that they list the disclaimer "They are
VERY friendly - but - "WE ALSO DO NOT KNOW HOW WELL THEY GET ALONG WITH
OTHER ANIMALS". Look at the smirks of those two faces...... their just
begging - "quick, get me out...."
If you can help, please pass this along or call the shelter.
Please Crosspost!
These two buddies are in very serious danger of being PTS. This shelter
is way overcrowded and they need out immediately. They really need to stay
together because they are so bonded. Can someone please help them have
another tomorrow? They are adorable! Thanks

Night.......all....
Well, you guessed it, we know
have THREE's company.
Randy,
So are their
names going to be Chrissy, Janet and Jack????? Last week I went to the
Lancaster Shelter to bail out 2 of the sweetest basset girls. Their
owner had previously adopted them from the shelter in June, and returned
them because she didn't have enough time for them. I try very hard not
to be judgmental and try to concentrate on the fact that the hounds are
rescued from an inevitable fate. Their names are Cookie and Nabisco and
they are truly bonded together as sisters. Cookie is more outgoing than
Nabisco, but both are great bassets! They love to play and they LOVE
affection! OK God....send some great basset adopting families over to
Daphneyland!!!! In the meantime, I am there Monday through Friday
tending to all their needs. I am proud to say that I was offered the
position as Kennel Manager there and I accepted. Life is good as I am
doing exactly what I feel I was put here on! earth to do. Nothing in
this world feels better than when I arrive at the Ranch and enter the
kennel gates and when all the hounds see me...how happy they are I am
there.

DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS POSTING ON-LIST.
POSTING GUIDELINES for the HOUND-RESCUE LIST:
To maximize the effectiveness of the hound-rescue list, these guidelines
need to be observed:
(1) Each posting should have in the SUBJECT LINE these elements - breed
and location. Keep the subject line short. Remove RE: and FW: from other
lists. Do not forward blindly - please take the time to edit. NO
ATTACHMENTS.
(2) Postings to hound-rescue may be crossposted UNLESS the poster
specially asks that no crosspostings be made. Please respect such
requests.
(3) Transport requests *involving hounds* are OK - although there are MUCH
better venues for such posts.
(4) Trim shelter lists to include only hounds and *obvious* hound mixes.
Retain contact info. Avoid hysterical language - we all know what happens
to dogs in shelters who don't get out in time; we don't need graphic
details.
(5) EVERY post must have in the BODY contact information for the dog.
(6) Requests for information are OK - such as training, fostering,
acclimating, etc. The occasional happy story or venting is fine, but we're
all busy and since this list doesn't have a topic system, keep chitchat to
a minimum. There are better lists for general rescue info.
(7) Responses not relevant to the entire list should be made privately.
(8) NO ANIMAL WELFARE OR PETITION OR LEGISLATION POSTS. We all hate
puppymills. Fight them elsewhere, though - this is not the place. No
requests for letterwriting for cruelty cases.
(9) If you are NOT regularly checking listmail, please DO NOT POST. It is
NOT true that 'better multiple postings than none'. Repeats cause busy
people to skip this list. Let's keep it useful.
Let's keep this a lean focused list and make it the premier source of
uncluttered info on hounds needing rescue.
Thanks! - Susan Hogarth
Could you do me a favor and post this
message to the dog rescue groups?
This coonhound is having puppies tonight. I can't handle this. When the
puppies get a little older and start making noise it will cause an uproar
among my 20 dogs. Plus, I can't afford this. I am worried right now
about losing my home. Please post this. I need help!

Correspondents Advocates, Writers
Photographers, Reporters and Liaisons Needed!
There are a myriad of positions available
for many different agencies throughout the U.S. There is a great need for
shelter workers and volunteers, liaisons, political activists,
campaigners, publicists and press people, photographers, correspondents
and, yes, transporters!
Most of these positions are not, in and of
themselves, demanding. Of course, if you care about animals they can
become very time consuming efforts, indeed, and we appreciate the vast and
varied talents of those who are doing this work -- many out of the
kindness of their hearts.
If you are interested in volunteering for
this effort or others, we invite you to write us and let us know what
you'd like to do, how often and how you like to work. We're sure to be
able to find a match for you!
We thank God for each and every one of you
who care enough to confront almost insurmountable odds to do everything
you can to change this travesty in our world, often facing your own
humanity
to do so, and putting your own
emotions on the line to care for the voiceless among us: GODSPEED to each
and every one...
