The Bergen County Animal Shelter in Teterboro, New Jersey is ALWAYS packed to capacity with cats.  So many of these sweethearts are seniors, who are lonely and confused.  They don't know why they've lost their loving homes.  They only know that they're in a cage in a noisy place and they desperately want to be part of a family again.  Can't someone give some of these sweet seniors a happy New Year? 

Among the needy seniors at this time are:

Felix is a handsome orange and white DSH. Felix, Purrfect and Missy came to us because their owner's new landlord would not allow pets. He told us the cats use the litter pan and are good with children and with other animals. They are 12 years old and are front-declawed. Felix is the most affectionate one of the cats. He loves to brush up against you and be brushed. He seeks attention. ID 43881

Purrfect came in with Felix and Missy because their owner's new landlord would not allow pets. Felix uses the litter pan and is good with children and with other animals. All three cats are 12 years old and are front-declawed. Purrfect is the most vocal out of the group. The third cat, Missy, has been adopted.  ID 43882

Princess is a tabby/white domestic long hair, brought in when her owner went into the hospital. She is 6-7 years old and has lived with other cats. From one of our animal attendants: "She came in with 4 other cats. She seems a little shy, but may warm up once settled in. She is a very very tiny cat!!!!!" ID 43918

Blackie is an extremely handsome domestic shorthair.  As his name implies, he's all black. This 6 year old was brought in because his owner was too ill to care for him. The woman who brought him to us said Blackie uses the litter pan and is OK with other cats. ID 44046

Popsicle, a beautiful black and white domestic short hair, came in with several other cats when their owner passed away. She is about 10 years old, uses the litter pan and is OK with other cats. ID 40929

Tinky is a lovely all black domestic shorthair with beautiful yellow eyes.  Tinky came in with another cat because their owner can no longer care for them. She is 4-5 years old. The person who brought them to the shelter told us she uses the litter pan and is OK with other cats. Tinky is still very stressed, but hopefully will get better with time.  ID 44048

Minnie has the most gorgeous green eyes you've ever seen.  Her owner told the shelter that both she and her daughter were allergic to the cat. She said Minnie uses the litter pan, and would do best in a home without young children. Minnie is 9 years old and is front-declawed. ID 44060

Joey is the cutest black and white domestic shorthair.  He has a diamond shaped marking on his face that kind of looks like a Christmas tree.  Joey came to us when his owner moved. She told us Joey is good with children and with other animals. He is front-declawed, very gentle and is about 7 years old.  ID 44027

Gray One, an adult female tiger cat, came in with Gray Two when their owner became too ill to care for them. She told us Gray One is OK with other cats. She is a little scared and shy with strangers. Gray One is about 5-6 years old.  ID 42727
