Citizens for the Prevention of Animal Cruelty, Inc., founded in July 1999, is
a 501-C-3 non-profit, charitable organization that maintains and operates The
Fayette County Animal Control Center. Also, our low-cost Spay/Neuter Program is
the first and only program of its kind in Fayette County, West Virginia. The
Fayette County Animal Control Center is funded by our County Commission.
Donations and contributions are always needed such as, cleaning supplies, dog
and cat food, kitty litter, bath towels, etc. Should you wish to volunteer or
donate please call the phone number listed below.

Adopting a friend
All animals adopted from the Fayette County Animal Control Center must be
sterilized prior to leaving the facility. All animals must be 8 weeks of age or
older, before being adopted. Once the adoption contract is signed, the adopted
pet will be sterilized at a local animal hospital that will perform "early age"
sterilization on the adopted pet. Also, if for any reason you are unable to care
for the animal, you must return it to the center. The Fayette County Animal
Control Center will be released from any liability that the animal may cause to
any person or property.
Our fees for adoptions are
Dogs/Pups- $40.00 Cats/Kittens- $30.00 We accept checks, money orders, and
cash.
Come Visit Us!
From the Fayetteville Intersection turn onto Rt. 16 North and travel 4.3
miles, then turn left onto Fayette Co. Park Road. Travel 1.1 mile and then veer
to the left onto a one lane paved road, then travel ½ mile and turn left (go
across bridge). Please drive to the new shelter on the hill for instructions on
adoptions, reclaims, admittance etc.
