Notes: Dolly is a 4 month old, purebred white english bulldog puppy with speckled ears. She was born August 17,2004. She is an adorable baby and has that contagiously sunny bulldog personality. Unfortunately, she also has what is called an absence of parasympathetic supply to the rectum and bladder, meaning that she has incontinence. She has been seen by a veterinarian, neurologist and a holistic veterinarian. Chiropractic and Accupunture were discussed and are not an option. She at this point in time will not get better, short of a miracle. She will need to be in an area that is tiled or of some other hard, cleanable surface when she is not kenneled or in an excercise pen. She will also need to be kept clean and dry every day of her life. Baths at least every other day. She would need to be a primarily indoor dog due to her short coat and diapers would have to be changed several times a day if used, to avoid rashing from being in urine and fecal matter over time. She could spend some time in a fenced yard in good weather, and would love to accompany her new family on walks, to the park or even to go camping or hiking. Caring for Dolly will take patience and love. For that though, she will give lots of love back to her lucky owner. She is normal in every other way. Alert, happy, fun loving and very bright. She is not an any medications. She deserves a long and happy life. Please ask yourself honestly, can you devote on a daily basis the time that she would require? I know that she will give back to you more than your could ever give her in unconditional love and friendship. If you are interested in Dolly, please email kuzmaj@onid.orst.edu to request an adoption application. She is not currently in our rescue, but we are working with her current caretakers to place her. She will be spayed and current on all vaccinations before going to a new home.

Sending out a message in case anyone sees or hears about this dog. His owner is frantic.... she believes that he was missing on Jan 31st.... close to midnight. He took his favorite football with him.... I do not believe this is the dog @ Dewey, as that boy has been there longer than before the 31st. (there is not a photo of that Bulldog on PetFinders.com, as the photographer is away on vacation).
Owner of current missing
boy will be sending photo hopefully sometime today.

noteabulls@aol.com Maybe this will help. Hello, my name is Gloria Pollock and I live in Colorado. If you can free this dog, I will definitely have a home for it. We have a friend who is a fire fighter, he already has one English Bulldog and is excellent with it.
Please please continue to keep the
pressure on animal control. A county shelter is a better fate
than what this dog is going through. He is dying and only you can
intervene. Please keep calling. We need these people to be
banned from doing this to another dog. It would be wonderful if
they would push for prosecution. Possibly you can contact
any English Bulldog rescues in the area, to help push for
prosecution.
If you, yourself, can secure his
freedom ( and most everyone has a price...then we can work on
getting them banned from owning another dog ) we can arrange a
transport and get him out here.
I just last month fostered a dog who
was in the same condition. I had never seen it before and the vet
explained how the body absorbs the muscle trying to sustain
life. The transformation was amazing. Within three weeks she
started putting on weight, able to control her kidneys and her
coat was getting sheen. She was so fearful when she came and was
like a pup when she finally had to leave (even tho, she was
reluctant and so were we, to see her go). Words can not explain
the feeling of seeing an animal do a turn around like that...and
most of all they seem to know you helped them and they give so
much in return.
I would love the opportunity to help
this pup, if there is anyway. Please keep me posted and most of
all thank you for caring enough to get involved.
Gloria
Hey Everyone!
Does anyone do American Bulldog rescue? I
know a family who is
My cousin and his fiance are looking for
a dog. Their previous dog recently passed away - an affable pit bull
mix (old age complications). They will be getting married in the
spring. The fiance has a lot of animal experience - she was into
horses as a kid and took their other dog to obedience classes,
earning a CGC. The dog will be well taken care of - they doted on
"Sophie" and saw her through many medical problems the last few
years. They both work full time but used to hire a neighbor child
to walk their old dog daily. They have a fenced yard and a cat
(indoor, neutered, I think 6 or 8 years old), and are eager to
have children after they are married. They have been looking at
dog breed books and fell in love with this cute little dog:
http://www.kolumbus.fi/joika/kooiker_e.htm Jana Hello everyone! Just a note to let everyone know that the stolen Bully puppy is back in her home! I want to thank you all for your thoughts and help and her owner, Sheree really wanted to send her thanks. She does not have a computer, so I am writing for her. Apparently the thief must have had her scanned somewhere, and that led him to go to the place where the owner had purchased the pup...and he asked them if he could transfer the chip # to himself. (What a nerve!!!!) The clerk thought this seemed fishy, but she went along it, just to get this persons name and address. (She knew the chip number was to one of their pups and who it was registered to, and they called the owner....I think the shop was the second contact.) The police would not just run over to pick up the puppy (I do not really know why), but they told the owner to wait until tomorrow (which was today). Well, last night the owner went to the address, ( I think frustrated that she had a lead on where the puppy was and the police would not act on it yet), and lo and behold, her little girl was clawing and scratching at the front window of the house, trying to get out. She called the police from the front door, and rang rang the bell and knocked. (Wayyyy dangerous to do that omg). A lady came to open the door, her puppy flew out to greet her, and they also had a Male Bulldog, too. The owner said "This is my dog!!!!". Detective is doing further investigation, the owner put him on the phone with the lady who answered the door and he told her to give the dog back. We should hear more by tomorrow, the miracle is that the pup is home!!!!!!! Thank you all again!

Hi..
Based on my experience....
There are two issues with long distance
adoption..long answer..but good one to know.
1. 99% of the time.. Generally, the Bulldog
Club of America and it's local chapters do their very best to limit
adoptions to local areas. This is because of the 'replacement home
checks', follow up on placements and the ever so rare... "we need to
take the dog back". So there is a real effort to place with in a few
hour drive of the foster home. Bulldog chapters are very regional in
operations, placement and care of their dogs...
2. BUT, that's not to say there isn't some
long distance adoptions or even rescues that cover huge areas. I am
in Southern California, and we cover an area that is well more than
a 15 hour drive from one point to another ... that we will place,
pickup and foster dogs in. I live near the coast of Orange County and
could drive to a small town near the Nevada boarder, if need be..to
see a bulldog. More than likely, I could look up a local show person
or other club member closer to the dog.
Out of area adoptions do happen too... for
special needs dogs and special requirements a dog may have or home can
offer. In such cases, a local chapter or ""bulldog person"" will do
the prehome check and we ask the owners to driver most of the way to
get the dog. I have driven dogs to other states when on vacation...
so it does happen.
Then... there is also a "bulldog rescue
rail road".. consisting of many volunteers that offer to transport a
bulldog short distances, passing the dog off to the next link in the
chain to get the dog most of the way to the new home. This rail road
isn't Bulldog Club of America operated or controlled, but many of it's
members volunteer to assist with transports. There is a website for
the bulldog rail road....PLUS there are other 'dog/pet transport rail
roads' that all fill in the blanks and help with bulldog transports.
The rules for 'non Bulldog Club of America'
rescues/adoptions vary even more.... for example, I know a rescue in
Los Angeles that only places with-in a hour drive of his home..period.
Florida has a couple rescues, that will not place out of state..period.
We call our fees 'donations'... Donations
are based on several factors for the dogs...of course age, perceived
quality of life the dog will have (length of time/health issues, etc),
the consideration of long term medications needed for the health of
the dog and the ability of the home to provide for the dog and how
much the rescue has spent to get the dog to adoptable health.
Naturally, a 6 month pup (if ever a pup
came in) in good health could be placed for a donation of about $700..
. and a 12 year old dog, with eye issues, failing health ..But still
with quality of life, we could expect donation of $50... It's far
less a money issue, and more about the best home for the dogs. We
even place dogs as 'rescue sponsored (free) to homes we know/trust
will give a dog that has maybe a year to live with medical needs... a
good home to spend those last days. Again...a regional chapter call on
the donations.
Of course, "we are ahead on some, in the
hole on others...hope off set one another and always in th red...like
all rescues".
A home of 'good heart', but modest means
may see a donation reduced (rescue sponsored adoptions) to allow a
placement to. happen.... Generally the donation is decided upon the
local rescue. Never seen another published to this effect
If you need more national information, I
can refer you to someone else who runs/oversees the national Bulldog
Club of America Rescue fund/operations.
Hope this helps...

Correspondents, writers, photo-graphers, liaisons, advocates and MORE Needed! There are a myriad of positions available for many different agencies throughout the U.S. There is a great need for shelter workers and volunteers, liaisons, political activists, campaigners, publicists and press people, photographers, correspondents and, yes, transporters! Most of these positions are not, in and of themselves, demanding. Of course, if you care about animals they can become very time consuming efforts, indeed, and we appreciate the vast and varied talents of those who are doing this work -- many out of the kindness of their hearts. If you are interested in volunteering for this effort or others, we invite you to write us and let us know what you'd like to do, how often and how you like to work. We're sure to be able to find a match for you! We thank God for each and
every one of you who care enough to confront almost insurmountable odds to do everything you can to change this travesty in our world, often facing your own humanity to do so, and putting your own emotions on the line to care for the voiceless among us: GODSPEED to each and every one...
