I've not posted
anything to this group before, and I know that for
the most part the posting consists of rescues of animals in shelters. Long story short, some people down the road from me moved out
rather abruptly,
leaving their animals behind (two dogs and three cats).
I finally caught
up with the small dog about a week after they left.
She was near a very busy highway, hungry and scared. I never did find her pups though and not sure what ever became of them.
The cats have
found good homes as did the larger dog. We are taking care of this
Dachshund mix for now, but would desperately love to find a good home
for her. She is small, I believe around 2 or 3 years old, reddish in
color, very sweet disposition, housebroken, loves kids, and a GREAT bed
buddy...when she lays down to go to sleep, she is OUT like a light until
you nudge her in the morning. Her bad habits include chasing cars,
loves to "pinch" you with her teeth...
like fleaing or something,
chases cats,
and gives my goat fits.
I already have a house dog who is very jealous of this little gal, so we've
had to keep her
outside...tied... since she chases cars.
If anyone knows
ANYONE who needs a nice, for the most part-well
behaved, small
doggie...please let me know. I can get a picture of her
to you if
interested. We are located in Northwest Florida.

Correspondents and Liaisons Needed! There are a myriad of positions available for many different agencies throughout the U.S. There is a great need for shelter workers and volunteers, liaisons, political activists, campaigners, publicists and press people, photographers, correspondents and, yes, transporters! Most of these positions are not, in and of themselves, demanding. Of course, if you care about animals they can become very time consuming efforts, indeed, and we appreciate the vast and varied talents of those who are doing this work -- many out of the kindness of their hearts. If you are interested in volunteering for this effort or others, we invite you to write us and let us know what you'd like to do, how often and how you like to work. We're sure to be able to find a match for you!
