Dear Marijo, dear Friends,
We are so happy that we could send you a report
from the demo in Zagreb which happened today, at noon sharp in Opaticka
Street No 12., Uptown Zagreb, in front of the Greek Embassy.
On Monday, second largest Croatian newspaper
Jutarnji list announced the protest and today Novi list did the same. The
article 'Greeks cleaned olympic Athens with the slaughter' (in the
attachment) was across the whole cover (last page)! Tomorrow we expect
reports in these newspapers and also in Vjesnik and the biggest Croatian
newspaper - Vecernji list.
As a spokesmen for this campaign I gave
interviews for Radio Osijek, Obiteljski radio, Radio Sljeme and Croatian
National Radio Second Channel. Other radio stations reported about the demo
from the press release we have sent them as well as practically all Croatian
Internet portals!
I also gave an interview for Novi list and
Jutarnji list newspapers and for the first time Croatian Informative News
Agency - HINA whose reporter also came to our demo!
ALL major Croatian TV stations
came to the demo - RTL Croatia, Nova TV, Open Television and Croatian
National Television crews, so we are eagerly expecting evening news!!!
This demo was a blast in spite of the fact that
it is a high holiday season in Croatia and that Zagreb is almost empty!
Everybody is on the seaside, but today the news about the Olympic shame are
rocking the whole Croatia!
During the demo we tried to give a protest
letter to Mr. Dimitris Vidouris, Greek Ambassador, but we couldn't reach
him. Namely, NO ONE from the Embassy wanted to meet with our president Luka
Oman so he had to leave our letter of protest in their mail box! The best
thing is that the media recorded everything!
In the attachment please find one photo from the
demo (more will be coming soon) with our banners 'Greek wins Olympic golden
medal for shame!' and 'Stop cruelty to animals'. We are so happy for
doing this small thing for the animals in Greece.
