Magdie was found wandering in L.A. Now she's in the shelter - and
needs rescue!
Contact Triecy@aol.com
Here is Magdie.
She was running scared down Figueroa this morning in the rain. I pulled
over and she circled my car then ran away, I stayed put and she came
back took a look at me and started to rn again, then turned around came
over for a hand sniff and jumped over me to get in the passenger seat. I
dryed her off with a blanket, but had to take her to North Central
because I had to get to work (and have already had a talking to because
of tardiness on the behalf of animals)
She sat in the seat, and would lean over for a smooch. Probably around
two years old. I went back to the shelter to take some photos and she
tried to give me "paw" through the bars.
She is too sweet, pretty and well-behaved. Available on the 8th.
URGENT! This is a sweet Shepard/Rottie mix...he is only 9
months old. He is a very nice boy and just stands at the front of his
run looking at everyone hoping to be the one picked to go to a home.
If anyone can help him please call the East Valley shelter at 818 756

Hi Becky,
It's Jennifer. We spoke on the phone sunday night about Max, a 1 yr
old, male Shep. pup. I have the pictures and the bio for you. They are
both below. If you think I should add or change the information in the
bio, please let me know! Also, please let me know what else i may need
to do. Thank you so much for your help and advice, i greatly
appreciate it!
Jennifer
This is Max. He is a 1 year old German Shepard mix. He is a very
energetic and friendly dog. As a small puppy he was neglected and
abused so he is a little head shy and timid. However, once he has
spent about 20 minutes around other people, he begins to warm up to
them, and will wind up sitting in their lap wanting attention! He is
house trained and is currently being taught basic commands such as;
sit, stay, down... He is very affectionate and loves to give kisses!
He loves to play, and appears to get along with other dogs. (He wanted
to play with my lab. mix but she wasn't feeling very friendly and I
had to separate them because she wanted to fight, so i am not
completely certain how he will react around other dogs. However, he
was being very playful around her, while she was out.) He allows
himself to be tugged on and lightly pushed at playtime and does not
react negatively to these actions. He also allowed me to pet him while
he was eating and drinking, as well as put my hand in and near both
his food and water bowls, so he does not appear to be food aggresive.
He is a very sweet dog and sincerely needs a good and loving home with
owners who will have time to play with him and train him.

can you work your magic?
I don't know the city...but the area
code is Ohio..one of the worst places to be if you are a dog needing
the home. I am not sure where Angela lives...she is the step daughter
and doesn't stop crying. She said the dog is really a sweetheart and
the guy will leave her out in the cold... He wants to
put her to sleep.
I told her rescue people would be
contacting her directly... I gave her your names, so she would know
you are heavy hitters in rescue and not just curiosity emails.
She is really pleading for help. Sorry, I didn't notice that she had
not included the city and state until I sent it. One more thing...she
said she listed she would transport to MI.,
but she wrote and said she meant Indiana.
She is scared...so I guess it
is to be expected.
Thanks for anything you can do on
this....she is so hopeful someone can help.
Okay, guys...there is nothing I can do
to help with this...but this girl is crying non stop and desperately
worried about this dog that she loves.
This dog is in imminent
danger... I have included all of her emails...to my questions.....and
I have assured her that I have put it out there for all of the 'heavy
hitters' who know how to get things done. Please work a miracle for
this dog...she is apparently really a sweetheart...this picture with
her cleaning is NOT her cleaning her puppies...she is spayed...this is
her cleaning kittens.
Please
someone help this girl.....she will help
with transporting and I know there are
others who would as well...myself included
if the dog comes this way.
(Photos are
attached and the emails from Angela are
under the dogs description. Please do your
best...this girl is pleading with
everything she has.) This is not her
dog...she is a relative. Please contact
Angela directly...if you need anything
from me...please let me know. Gloria

If
I could take her she would be here right
now. I can't have her and I'm writing
everyone,
because she
is going to be put to sleep in a matter
of days if I can't find somewhere for her

Thank you for any help to save her. I

Those are not puppies as
everyone thinks, those are kittens! She
has Been spayed for a long
time...including in that picture.
She is at immediate risk of being left
outside in the weather and being put
down...this is really an urgent case!!

Hello,
Merry Christmas!! My name is Marcia, I'm located in Homestead, Fl and I
have seen a German Shepherd for the second time roaming around. I have
stopped both times and have fed her, I swear she is more interested in
being loved than in eating. If you know of anyone that is interested in
taking in a gorgeous German Shepherd, who is friendly and loving and
looking for a family to give her love to this Christmas please call me
(305) 505-2446. I will drive any distance to take her to a good home and
will pay for any shots she may need.
God bless and lets try to get this beautiful German Shepherd a good home
this Christmas.
Thank you and God Bless,
Marcia
raven2363@yahoo.com
There are cats there who roam also and I feed them daily at the same
place; the German Shepherd roams with them. When I get there the cats run
away but the dog stays. I strongly believe they have a great
relationship.
She is a keeper.

My
husband and I are members of an incredible web forum:
http://www.germanshepherds.com/
I think every GSD rescue in the
country belongs to it. They have a forum on Urgent Rescue and I just want
you to know that both the male GSD #3722 and the female #3657 are listed
there and people are scrambling to try to save them. Someone is going
over to temp test the male I hope they check the female as well. I wish
every breed had a group like this. They jump on the rescues and manage to
shoehorn another one in and they also take care of injured dogs.
When you get a GSD (unfortunately they only do purebred ones) if you can
post in the Urgent forum someone may be able to save the dog. They
talked me into taking an old man who was going to die Wednesday and I sure
didn't have room for another dog. LOL
Peace,
Jane
I'm
looking for a foster home for my neighbor's German Shepherd. If you have
room, could you please consider Ben? I know it's a really bad time of year
to find a foster home. Ben lives here in St. Clair Shores and he is so
kind and gentle.
hey, have you tried the adoption_assistance group on yahoo? or some of
the breed specific rescues? there are several, and i'm sure they would be
more than willing to lend a hand! i know adoption_assistance is very good
at arranging transport, and they are mostly on the east coast and
mid-west. and the german shepherd rescues would probably take him in a
heartbeat as long as one of them has room. give them
a try! i'll pass it along on my end and see if i hear anything. :)

Hi my name is Cesar the German Shepherd A568608. I am 8 years of age. I
am housebroken and the sweetest of all Shepherds. I need a home that can
help me get back to my original weight. I am a little stressed with all
the barking going on and no one walks me on my regular schedule. I am
completely house trained. They say that they eyes are the window to the
soul. My eyes are calling for you to take me home so that I may live out
my days laying by the feet of a human companion.

Another Louisiana dog
but what a beautiful GSD. Any GSD rescue folks out there?
Does anyone know anyone that can save this
dog...So sad for him to be left in the shelter..He was running at
large on two ocassions and when he was found there was a dead poodle
near him..There is no evidence that the dog had anything to do with
the demise of the poodle..Because he was with picked up twice the
shelter will not return him to his owner and now he needs
rescue.....Please crossposts.......

Mrs. Wilson,
I am Jim McGrath, my wife and I work as volunteers at the Slidell
Animal Shelter and we spoke to you last weekend in regards to a
Shepherd. However, at the time I was not aware there was another
Shepherd in the Shelter needing to be rescued. The Shelter staff had
contacted a rescue group that informed it would be coming with a
couple of days but has never showed up. I thought they had. Attached
are pictures of Miles.
I like the dog and have been working with him everyday this week. I
take him out of his kennel and let him run within the fenced compound
at the shelter. He obeys well and is not a problem to handle. I have
not tried to take him around small dogs nor would I try. He plays
well with me and loves to run. My only problem with him is that he
does not want to go back to his kennel after playtime. I cannot say
as I blame him. As you can see by the pictures I took he is very
beautiful He just needs to be handled by someone that knows this
breed and how to work with them. Anything you can do to help would be
appreciated.

Hi,
I know of 3 shepherd-mix puppies that are in dire need of assistance.
They are about 6-8 months old and are currently strays. There are 2
males and 1 female and look to be severely underweight. I have emailed
and called about 35 people trying to get anyone to take them in, ither
permanently or to foster, but I am not having any luck. I currently
have 6 dogs and 3 cats of my own, most of which are special needs and as
much as I have been trying to work it out, I just don't have the space or
resources to take these puppies in. I am however, willing to help in any
other way I can if a safe place can be found for them. I will be more
than happy to catch them, take them to the vet and pay for their checkups
and shots and even deliver them to their new place.
Is there anyway someone there
can help these puppies? Or suggest other people who I can contact about
this matter? As I said previously, I am more than willing to put in the
time and effort to save these three puppies. Any help or advice you can
provide in this matter would be greatly appreciate both by me and the
puppies!

Before Chrismas you folks posted about this pretty
girl. She is a
perfect example of a female GSD and was photographed wearing a red
bandanna. You were impressed by her manners...you were right, she is
something special.
She was pulled by Shepherds to Love Rescue and here is her Petfinder
page. http://snipurl.com/brc0 She
has heartworms and was pregnant :(
but has been spayed and is being treated for her heartworms. Thanks
to you and your promotion of her she has a chance at life and to be loved.

Correspondents and Liaisons Needed!
There are a myriad of positions available
for many different agencies throughout the U.S. There is a great need for
shelter workers and volunteers, liaisons, political activists,
campaigners, publicists and press people, photographers, correspondents
and, yes, transporters!
Most of these positions are not, in and of
themselves, demanding. Of course, if you care about animals they can
become very time consuming efforts, indeed, and we appreciate the vast and
varied talents of those who are doing this work -- many out of the
kindness of their hearts.
If you are interested in volunteering for
this effort or others, we invite you to write us and let us know what
you'd like to do, how often and how you like to work. We're sure to be
able to find a match for you!
We thank God for each and every one of you
who care enough to confront almost insurmountable odds to do everything
you can to change this travesty in our world, often facing your own
humanity to do so, and putting your own emotions on the line to care for
the voiceless among us: GODSPEED to each and every one...
