Subject: Sweat Pea -- lab mix euthanized same day in
Prince George's Co., MD
Just like Chaco...a heartbreaker...from my MD rescue
friend, Maria. SweatPea's photo will be etched in my
memory forever. This is why we have to keep going.

In Loving Memory of SweetPea
Sweet Pea was a 7 year old beautiful black lab mix that our local rescue group
reached out to try and help when they were asked. Instead of taking the help
offered, for unknown reasons, Sweet Pea's family took her to the shelter where
she was then euthanized - at the same time that a home for her was found.
Sweet Pea paid the ultimate price, and all she did was love with complete devotion her owner who gave up on her when Sweet Pea needed her most to hang in there. These words and thoughts are for Sweet Pea now, though, and just know, Sweet Pea that even those of us who never met you love you and feel deep sadness that your story didn't end differently.
You deserved better than all this but those of us who at least knew you by name and picture only - will still always think of you and try and spare any more dogs from having to go through what you went through. Now you are free. Run in all the dog parks and eat all the dog bones you want - and just know your life was not taken in vain - we'll work even harder now to try and make a difference for all the SweetPeas in this world - the precious and innocent dogs who don't have a voice and just love us so unconditionally.
We won't forget you, Sweet Pea.
