This is the dog that had the collar embedded into his neck clear
down to the muscle!  He is precious!

We are looking for a loving, permanent home for this guy.
He should be in a family with no other dogs so that he gets the one on
one attention that he deserves.  He is also fearful of other dogs.
He will be neutered on Monday, June 21st.

If you know of anyone interested, please have them contact BarkAnimalRescue@wmconnect.com or call 740-964-9651.

Subject: severely abused dog's owner fined only TEN DOLLARS

Please crosspost-------------------------------

Licking County, Ohio has experienced a HUGE set back when it comes to animal cruelty laws.  A woman was charged with animal cruelty because her dog was found with a collar EMBEDDED IN HIS NECK and GANGRENE had set in.
As one dog warden stated, "the dog's neck was almost sawed in half!!!"  The woman plead 'no contest' and was found guilty by Judge Branstool but fined ONLY $10.00!  Yes, that's TEN DOLLARS!!!!
The case is #04CRB00141 in Licking County Municipal Court.

The judge, W. David Branstool, was also this woman's divorce attorney!!
Shouldn't he have dismissed himself from this case?  It is sad that the animal cruelty laws are not being upheld in Licking County.  What we need is a "watchdog" group for this area!!!!!!  PLEASE contact the Columbus Dispatch, Newark Advocate, any news media as well as the Licking County Municipal courts and voice your opinion for this pitiful, helpless dog whose neck was ALMOST sawed off!!!
Can you even imagine what that must have felt like for this defenseless dog?

You can go to the Licking County website and follow the leads to the municipal court.

Here are a couple of email address for Franklin and Licking County newspapers:

The Newark Advocate -

Please contact the news media in your area, and ask that this be investigated!!!!
