MUFFIE's TIME
IS RUNNING OUT
and she will
soon be taken to the pound!
I sent this out early
last week, please think about this sweetheart!
MUFFIE
Shepherd Mix
7 Years Old
We received a call from a couple
who said
that their grandmother was in
failing health
and someone was going to have to
do
SOMETHING with her dog, whom she
could no longer care for.
I hear this
excuse all of the time
and when I drove
out to her farm house
I pretty much
had envisioned the scene.
Things were not at all what I
imagined.
A little old lady in her 90's
came to the farmhouse door
and she could hardly walk (she
had 2 canes).
She was all bent over and it
quickly became obvious
that indeed she was not capable
of caring for this dog
(although she has done a good job
of it regardless!)
She was as sweet as molasses
and explained that she didn't
want her grandkids
to take "MUFFIE" to the pound.
Her grandkids told us we have a
week or two
and then they were taking Muffie
to the pound.
I know, how could they... but at
least they called us first.
Our foster homes are full (we are
a small 501(c)3
and very low on funds at present,
so we
can't afford to board her.
We are hoping
SOMEONE out there
might be willing
to adopt an older dog.
She is currently living chained
up in her barn,
but I must admit it is very
clean, cool,
and filled with fresh straw.
Muffie has lived in the house,
but not for the past couple
years, she said.
Muffie was a little shy at first,
but once she knew we were ok
she was very friendly and
liked to be petted and loved.
I would say she is definitely a
submissive dog.
Probably better with adults and
older children
because she is an older girl.
We will pay for COMPLETE vetting.
If you or
someone you know
might be
interested
in giving Muffie
(and she is
absolutely ADORABLE)
the home she
deserves,
please fill out
an application at
(scroll down to lower right).
If for some reason you encounter
technical difficulties,
I think Muffie is absolutely
BEAUTIFUL!
