Dearest Listmembers,
from your Listowner, Cynthia.
For us to eradicate overpupulation and related injustices,
here are some practical ideas I would like to share with you:
We need to set a HIGH priority on neutering and spaying,
and persist in being vocal.
NOT everyone is aware of the horrific statistics!
When each one of us does our share, we can witness the day:
NO LONGER are thousands of unwanted (unplanned) pets being sent to
untimely deaths.
REMEMBER :
Be vocal, educate people with pets. Overpopulation is THE cause of so many
thousands of unnecessary deaths.
Everyone is NOT aware that thousands of homeless pets are killed daily.
SO....
Strike up conversations with pet-accompanied humans!
They won't be offended if they already know the scoop,
so remind them that MOST people do NOT know the obvious.
Nudge them to tell others about the PROBLEM and its SOLUTION.
Remember the movie: "Pay It Forward"?
Encounter the uneducated pet person with understanding:
their ignorance is a function of our society,
which does not place the proper premium on all life.
Cause and effect need to be explained.
You can directly connect the PROBLEM (cruelty and death caused by
OVERPOPULATION) with its SOLUTION (setting a HIGH priority on
neutering and spaying.)
Don't be afraid of sounding like a broken record:
repetition is the KEY to learning!!
Make sure YOUR animal shelter demands spay/neuter before adoption.
Order pamphlets from Best Friends (info@bestfriends.org)
to distribute
at your vet offices, pet stores, animal shelters;
get them on the counters where people will see them,
take the information home,
take it to heart,
and DO SOMETHING!!!
Wishing you all the very best,
Cynthia
THE DOGS ARE THANKING YOU ETERNALLY !!!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, and thank you from me, too!
The reason why so little is done, is generally because so little is attempted.
