Perkins is a handsome adult male yellow lab mix who is waiting for his
forever home at the Bergen County Animal Shelter in Teterboro, NJ. Abandoned
outside the shelter several months ago, he rapidly became a favorite of shelter
staff and volunteers. Apparently, he had a home once upon a time, because he
appears to be housebroken. He loves to get his neck massaged. When he was found,
he was wearing a collar that was much too tight, and was cutting into his neck,
so he obviously didn't get the care he deserved.
The picture doesn't do him justice, because it doesn't show his beautiful,
gentle face to best advantage. Despite his age, estimated at 6-7 years, he's
active and enthusiastic. Perkins enjoys his walks, and in his enthusiasm, he
does pull a bit too much when he first starts out, but with a little training,
he'll do just fine. Perkins seems to genuinely enjoy the company of people,
and he's fine with most other dogs.
Perkins is a dog who truly deserves a second chance at a loving home. If you
can give him that second chance, please contact Pam at DigDoggies3@aol.com or
Doris at Pupkit3@aol.com. Better still, visit the shelter in person to see
the many wonderful animals available for adoption. The Bergen County Animal
Shelter is located at 100 United Lane, Teterboro, NJ (Meadowlands area of
northern NJ not far from Giants Stadium). The shelter is open 7 afternoons per
week
for adoptions. Rescues, please visit the shelter's website at
http://www.co.bergen.nj.us/bcas/ to read their rescue policies before
contacting the
shelter. His shelter ID is 37183
