These links are not for the feint of heart: GRAPHIC WARNING KATIA: CALLING OHIO!
Video [with sound] of Yadkin's Gassing Chamber

Dogs are dying in droves throughout the U.S. Today, soon to be 2005, the facts and figures surrounding this issue are incomprehensible -- as are the lack of spay and neuter laws and the viciousness of the gassing chambers that still dot the landscapes coast to coast. Who would have dreamed that this situation would be worse than it was 25 years ago? [Perhaps the FDA did... they are subsidizing breeders! Hunte Corporation this year and last secured $3.5 million each year in loans designed to enhance the growth of their business!] And grow, it has. The burgeoning population of unwanted animals has become a national disgrace. And while the population of the U.S. contains the largest and most vocal animal advocates in the entire world, they somehow haven't been able to change the policies of those who are determined to undermine the value of these noble creatures that comprise the 'animal kingdom.'

In most states, the laws on the books would surprise our readers: they're THERE. It appears this was never intended to happen. Unfortunately, as with anything else that generates money and gives our politicians more reason to tax the citizenry, the problem never gets resolved and, in most cases, it actually gets worse. The status of this issue so detestable that those that face it daily are sickened at the vast numbers of beautiful, adoptable, young, healthy, sweet and docile companion animals that are being destroyed, cart blanche, apparently without 'a second thought.'

The anger among rescue communities is apparent. Reports consistently surface of grievous injustices concerning these animals: destruction of those already slated for rescue, abuses at the hands of shelter workers and staff personnel, maliciousness aimed at the rescue community, barbaric acts before, during and after euthanasia. What is this world coming to? Turning a blind eye to all of this suffering has clearly impacted the young and impressionable as unthinkable acts of incredible cruelty to animals surfaces almost daily by children -- and even government employees have been cited in various acts of cruelty against animals. A few cases en pointe: Michigan policemen drown crated cat; Investigation brings criminal charges of animal cruelty against nation's largest provider of laboratory animals; Illinois municipal worker charged for shooting his own dog in front of neighborhood children.

We ask those interested in truly changing the face of animal rescue throughout the country to contact us and work with us in an effort to hold accountable our politicians: they are taxing us without representation of our interests and those of the vast population of the U.S. and this is unconstitutional and must cease immediately.

These animals are due a life free from abuse, sickness, suffering and willful destruction and first and foremost efforts need to be made to prevent the needless breeding of unwanted animals on the part of citizens engaging in this activity both intentionally and carelessly.

KURT is owned by someone that's soon to be homeless...

The good times are almost over for Kurt. Owned by someone that is losing their own home, Kurt and her friend Kimo and about to lose the only home they've ever known.

The numbers are astounding. Without advocacy, people and animals are being displaced in record numbers -- largely because no one seems to really care that it is happening.

We do advocacy here -- and our first recommendation to those who are trying to intervene in these disastrous situations is 'Do Not Take 'NO' For An Answer.'

We can help in situations like this, particularly well if we are given some advance notice. Don't hesitate to call. We're available 24/7 and have contact people in all fields.
