SADIE

Hello Everyone,

A few weeks ago I sent out a letter regarding a special needs golden puppy that needs help. We would like to thank everyone for their donations and crossposting .

Sadie is growing like a weed and is almost 7 months old, she is up to 45 pounds. She is crate trained, she knows sit, stay, down, off, no and recall. Sadie loves people and other dogs. Her playmate is a 106 pound Bernese Mountain dog.

She is healthy other that her incontenience problem. Sadie has been on antibiotics and her infection seems to be gone for now, but this has not helped with her urine leakage.

Sadie is a  puppy mill puppy from MO. The problem that she has is genetic. She came to us at 3 months old, she was spayed and adopted to a family at 4 months old. About 5 weeks later her family contacted us back to tell us that she was having problems and that they needed to return her to us because they could not deal with the emotional or the fininicial end of her problem. Sadie has been back with us for 6 weeks now and will be with us until she is well enough to go to her own forever home.

Sadie is a real special needs girl; she has a bladder problem . She has a problem holding her urine, during her waking hours she constantly leaks urine. Sadie has to be bathed or washed off daily to avoid her from getting an infection.

While Sadie is in the house she is either in a crate or has to wear a diaper, and her diaper needs to be changed almost every hour to avoid irritation.  She has been to 2 different vets for testing and it has been discovered that she as born with with 1 good kidney and 1 non-functional kidney.

There is also a birth defect inside her bladder.  The larger Sadie gets the more urine she will leak daily. We want this young 7 month old girl to have the life of a normal dog. But we need help in doing this.

GAB rescue is less than one year old and like most rescues have spent well beyond what we get for an adoption donation for all of our dogs. GAB has been able to manage until now, but we have had to put a halt to bringing in any additional dogs or puppies until we can get Sadie’s medical needs taken care of.

Over 2,000 have been spent on Sadie and we expect to have to spend another $1000-$3000 on her for additional tests and her surgery to correct this problem.   We have applied to the April fund and will be applying to the Golden Med  but we still need additional help with the funding.

We need help… if you know of anyone that is able to donate towards Sadie’s medical care we would appreciate any an all amounts regardless weather they are big or small.

Please accept our thanks in advance for helping Sadie. GAB Rescue is a 501 (c) (3) non profit corporation so your contribution would be tax deductible, as allowed by law.

If you would like any information about Sadie’s condition please feel free to contact me at the address below.

We would like to thank those of you who have already contributed to Sadie’s fund.
