Sue has
had one hell of a life. This beautiful five year dalmatian mix apparently has
spent most of her life as a puppy machine. Her body shows signs of having borne
several litters. She was surrendered this week to the Mason County Animal
Shelter in Point Pleasant, WV with a host of other dogs, many of them her pups.
Among the other dogs surrendered by the same family were a litter of two year
old beagle/dalmatian pups, a litter of six month old dalmatian pups, and the
purebred beagle who is the father of all those pups. And to add to the problem,
Sue possibly is pregnant again.
The county recently ordered the shelter to adhere to a strict limit on the
number of dogs kept and the length of their stay. During the last two days,
more than 30 dogs were brought in, twenty-five of them from the family that
surrendered poor Sue. The arrival of so many dogs at one time made it almost
certain that there will be a mass gassing. As an owner surrender, Sue can be
put down at any time, and as one of the older dogs at the shelter, she doesn't
stand much of a chance of being adopted.
Sue has had a miserable life. Can't someone give this poor girl a few years of
happiness and love?
